Egon Schiele

by

I can’t tell if Egon Schiele was ahead of his time or if many illustrators and artists reached a plateau in similar styles. He even looks like a modern man. What do you think?

He was one of the best. His work and style definitely feel current.

Schiele worked with Gustav Klimt in Austria in the early 20th century. Schiele adopted Klimts style and took it further technically.

I personally enjoy his very controlled yet seemingly sloppy watercolors. Illustrators today struggle to compete with Schiele’s ability. At best we only copy him well.
